Privacy
Happenings is a personal event wall — it remembers the events you choose to save. This page explains what it collects, who helps process it, and how to get it deleted. It's written to be read, not to cover lawyers.
What we collect
- Account info. When you sign up we use Clerk to handle authentication. Clerk stores your email, name, and (if you use it) your sign-in provider identity. We keep your user id, a chosen
@handle, and whether you're an admin. - The events you save. The links and screenshots you capture, plus what we extract from them — title, date, time, venue, cost, description, and a poster image.
- Capture inputs. URLs you submit are fetched by our server to read the page. Images you submit are stored so they can be shown on your wall.
- Operational logs. Standard request logs and a record of ingest failures, used to keep the service working. We don't run advertising trackers.
Who processes it
We don't sell your data and we don't show ads. To run the service we rely on a small set of providers, each handling only the slice they need:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Neon — the Postgres database your events live in.
- Vercel — hosting, and Blob storage for images you upload.
- Google (Gemini) and Anthropic (Claude) — extract event details from the page or image you capture.
- Google Places — resolves a venue name into a location and time zone.
- Event sources (Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, Bandsintown, Eventbrite, Resident Advisor) and Firecrawl — fetch the public event page behind a link you save.
What we don't do
No feed, no algorithm, no public profiles, no "see what your friends are saving." Your wall is private to you. It's shared only through links you explicitly create, with the people you send them to. We don't post your activity anywhere or notify anyone about it.
Your control & deletion
You can delete any event from your wall at any time. To delete your whole account and the data attached to it, email jmg698@gmail.com and we'll remove it. You can also manage or delete your sign-in identity through Clerk.
A note on what this is
Happenings is a personal project, not a company. It's offered as-is and may change. If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what's stored about you, just ask — jmg698@gmail.com.
